We are at home in the south of Bavaria, in the middle of the Alps and yet only two hours away from Munich. Our chalets and vacation apartments combine alpine architecture with stylish interiors - high-quality, warm and designed with love. But what makes the Alpzitt really special is not the sauna, bathtub or Swiss stone pine bed. It's the little things: the lovingly filled breakfast basket, our honest cuisine and the attitude of getting a little better for our guests every day. What counts here is not perfection, but feeling. A-la-carte in the evening. Just like at breakfast, our Genusswerk is designed to combine the meeting point and culinary delights in the chalet village in the evening. This means our guests are free to choose whether they prefer to have dinner in the chalet or enjoy a convivial evening in our Genusswerk at the end of the day.
From September, our Genusswerk guests can look forward to an even more "Genusswerk" feeling - because the reception is moving out of the restaurant building and getting its own home.
To the Genusswerk
The mill pond in our chalet village, as a reservoir and fed by the village stream, used to provide the water power to drive the sawmill. Today it is a body of water and habitat for trout and char and a gem for relaxing and unwinding.
In the new spa area, our natural lake awaits you for a natural, refreshing cool-down - harmoniously embedded in the soothing tranquillity of the surroundings.
Since 2023, our chalet guests have been able to use an e-charging station at the Alpzitt.
We are very pleased about our new reception, which is lovingly integrated between the Genusswerk and the new spa area - with a stylish check-in and check-out area that warmly welcomes our guests.
In the new spa area, our guests can look forward to a year-round heated outdoor pool - harmoniously embedded in the soothing tranquillity of our chalet village surroundings.
Welcome to the new Alpzitt Spa - your retreat for rest and regeneration. A new wellness building with a stylish relaxation room, sunny terrace, direct access to the natural lake and heated outdoor pool and a Finnish sauna invites you to switch off. New treatment rooms for massages and treatments round off the feel-good experience - for holistic relaxation in the heart of our chalet village.
To the spa
Each chalet now has its own covered carport. This also gives your cars a private, protected parking space.
We are Sonja & Albert. We grew up in the village, well looked after and happy. We are infinitely grateful for this and want to pass on this feeling. A bit like it used to be - a bit like it should be again. We were able to create a place to feel at home - and every day we put so much heart and soul into our little village so that it can be a place of strength and a favorite place for you too. Arrive & be welcome. Simply at home.
We attach particular importance to genuine and sustainable materials, which is why we have furnished all rooms with lots of wood, stoneware, high-quality fabrics and loden. We deliberately choose simple but special decorations, mostly made from natural materials. We have "real" flowers and branches from the farm garden or the local nursery at the table. This is exactly what gives the restaurant its unique, down-to-earth flair. Nothing seems artificial. The fireplaces create an incredible feeling of well-being. Our handcrafted, high-quality Swiss stone pine beds contribute to healthy sleep.
We want to make your vacation something very special. That's what our Alpzitt team stands for. It gives us pleasure to prepare unforgettable experiences & moments for you. We are happy to do it individually, because almost anything is possible. Chef's Choice menu in the chalet, champagne, a good bottle of wine or just the hand-tied bouquet of flowers, the homemade birthday cake...we fulfill your wishes. So wonderful is our nature in the Allgäu. Lush greenery, flowing streams, high mountains, clear lakes and forests. You can hike and cycle directly from our village to wonderful gems and places of power. Our nature is intact. Here we still experience the seasons. The special feature of our village is truly our mill pond, a biotope that is incredibly grounding. Watching the ducks and swans, floating along, coming to rest. Wellness for the soul...in a completely different way. Our chalet village is the starting point for various excursions into nature. Extensive bike tours, alpine hikes or relaxing walks - all this is possible here in the Allgäu. A trip on a retro bike to the nearest bathing lake is our tip in summer. ...and in winter? Snowshoes on, a tour through the snow-covered Allgäu, lots of fresh air, for "healthy red cheeks" and a good immune system. And by the way, our private guides will make your time outdoors a special experience. Ask for it....
At the old sawmill, everything has always revolved around the element of water...power, purification, life.
The new water worlds allow us to immerse ourselves in the truest sense of the word - in the outdoor pool, which is heated all year round, or the natural lake, which gives us a refreshing cool-down in summer and a kick in the ice-cold water in winter.
... and when the atmospheric light falls on the solid wooden floors, natural stone and fine fabrics in the massage & relaxation rooms and we are surrounded by cozy warmth, then we have arrived at that special time for ourselves. There is an arc between "everything is allowed and nothing has to be done", between activity and quiet time.
...and it's so big with us! Our guests are spoiled in the morning with a rich, self-selected breakfast of their choice in the privacy of their own chalet. Fresh rolls from the village bakery, freshly brewed coffee, local produce and, above all, lots of love go into Alpzitt's breakfast kistlé. How wonderful to start the day so relaxed and all to yourself.
You don't have to drive all the way to South Tyrol to experience the mountains and enjoy a wonderful chalet vacation. The chalet village of Alpzitt can be reached quickly and easily within Germany - without long car journeys, without tolls and without pass roads such as the Fernpass or the Brenner Pass. Here you will find everything your heart desires within easy reach.
Our a la carte Restaurant Genusswerk presents itself at a high level and head chef Marcel and his team manage to combine down-to-earth and modern cuisine and conjure up very special moments of pleasure. Using regional ingredients is a matter of course, you can taste it and it's healthy too. To me or to you, that's the motto. You can enjoy our culinary delights served in our village house or in the privacy of your chalet.
Our chalet village is a village with a history. Our sawmill, mentioned as the first house in Burgberg in 1606, is considered to be its origin. Today it is the home of the Gilb family. We have been working and living here for generations, as sawmillers and craftsmen, connected to agriculture, as hosts and family. We are proud to write new stories in this place that tells stories from the old days...courageous and cosmopolitan, yet full of humility and gratitude!
We really are "right in the middle" and enjoy the advantages of our central location. We can reach wonderful leisure facilities and sights in just a few minutes by car. In just under an hour, we can be at Neuschwanstein Castle or at Lake Constance, the "Swabian Sea". The nearest bathing lake or the town of Sonthofen and Immenstadt are just a few minutes away on foot or by bike, perfect for a little stroll. In winter, we have lots of skiing and snow fun in small and special ski resorts...we experience pure tranquillity and lots of nature on snowshoe tours and winter hikes on more secluded paths.
We love our home, the values & traditions. This is where we grew up, this is where we are allowed to be. We feel at home in village life and we celebrate the holidays throughout the year. Just like in the old days. We treat nature with respect. In our village there are perennials, shrubs, fruit trees, scratching, happy chickens...the flower meadow is allowed to grow "just higher", so we provide an important habitat for bees and other insects and also bright summer joy. Naturalness and originality determine our thinking. Providing and maintaining a healthy habitat, also for future generations, is a matter close to our hearts.
Water, power, life, these things have always determined our thoughts & actions and now with our new water and wellness worlds in a whole new way.

.We stayed in one of the brand new lakeside chalets. Simply fantastic. Everything you need and more.... There is a pool heated to 31 degrees in the complex. Super! You can swim in the lake in front of the chalets or cool off after the sauna. But it's cold at this time of year. Breakfast was brought to our chalet. Great selection of smoothies. The staff are very, very friendly and helpful. We felt very comfortable. The food in the Genusswerk is super tasty.
A beautiful chalet village with every comfort. Everything is very cozy and comfortably furnished. The entire outdoor area is so lovingly and beautifully laid out. Absolutely perfect for a relaxing vacation for two. All the staff and the boss deserve a particularly positive mention. We have rarely met such a great team on vacation and were so pampered. Our vacation cannot really be put into words or captured in photos. Heart and soul are in harmony in this place. We will be back and thank you very much.
Very beautiful chalet village with lots of attention to detail. Rarely have I experienced such great and friendly service. Every wish is read from your lips and everything is taken care of. The chalets have everything your heart desires. Despite the constant rain, we were able to take a really nice break from everyday life. The chalet service is sensational. We will definitely be back!
