OUR
HISTORY
The saw mill is the oldest trade mentioned in a document from 1606, at the same time the saw mill is the oldest and first house in Burgberg. The mill, formerly the castle mill of Heimenhofen Castle, served not only as a saw mill for cutting boards and beams, but also originally and until 1882 for grinding grain. The water power of the nearby village stream provided the drive here. In the middle of the 19th century, the artificial mills in the lowlands were able to deliver better and finer flour, and thus many farmers' mills had to be shut down. This was followed by the conversion from "grain mill to saw mill". The owners changed several times. In 1922 Albert Gilb married the owner's daughter Theresia Maurer, the great-grandmother of Albert Gilb Jr. We are pleased to include the still family-owned and intact, venerable mill in the "Alpzitt" chalet village project. We are proud to be able to continue writing the history of a property that has changed over the centuries.
Team
Alpzitt
We quickly realized that we can only live up to our claim if we have compassionate people on our side who are as passionate about Alpzitt as we are. After more than 4 years we proudly display a professional, loyal, strong and above all loving team. It would be impossible to imagine this place without them. There are so many elements that hold us together. A sense of responsibility, discipline, commitment, keeping promises, leading by example, appreciation, passion and of course a lot of love for what we all do every day.
